AKiba Acdemy for achieving 50 years of extraordinary excellence!  This event promises to be a beautiful tribute to Akiba:

its history, achievements, and contribution to the Dallas Jewish Community.

Why should I attend?

The Gala brings the community together and always promises to be a fun experience for all who attend at the same time raising important funds for the school. The Gala provides opportunities for socializing, enjoying good food, and participating in the live auction. Simply by attending the Gala each of us has a chance to give back. We are trying to teach our children to have a positive impact on the world and this is a significant and fun opportunity to do just that.

How much do tickets cost?

Tickets are: $180 per person ($80 is tax deductible)

How do I/we become an event sponsor?

Many exciting sponsorship opportunities are available. We need the support of our patrons, local businesses and organizations through Gala Sponsorship. Sponsoring this event not only benefits our school, but also gives visibility for businesses through the sponsorship package options detailed in the enclosed Sponsorship level options

How do I/we advertise in the Gala Historical Publication?

The Gala Journal is a great place to advertise your business or take out a personal ad to write a special message. This com­mem­o­ra­tive Trib­ute Jour­nal will fea­ture many stu­dents and fam­i­lies that have been a part of the school com­mu­nity over the years, as well as high­light our many gen­er­ous sup­port­ers and his­tor­i­cal and cur­rent school pic­tures throughout. We have several advertising options for the Gala Journal. Please approach family, friends, and area businesses, anyone with whom you do business in support of our 50th Anniver­sary Inspire! Gala.

How can I contribute an auction item?

The Gala Auction Committee welcomes any donation to the auction. Donations of product, services and gift cards would be appreciated. We encourage you to be creative. Have questions about an item to donate – contact the Development Office at 214-295-3411 or development@akibaacademy.org.

What can I donate?

The success of the Gala depends upon the generous donations of parents and friends of Akiba. Art, jewelry, kid-related items, vacation homes, gift cards, electronics, sports memorabilia, entertainment and sporting event tickets, services, home décor, furniture, children’s items (clothing, toys, gifts)… the list of possibilities goes on and on! You come up with an idea for an item, we’ll take it!

How does the Silent Auction work?

There will be TWO silent auctions: one at school October 15, 16 and 17, items at the in-school silent auction will NOT be represented at the Gala silent auction, and one at the Gala. This year’s silent auction features: art, kid-related items, electronics, teacher gifts, student portraits, sports items, sports memorabilia, clothing, home décor, beauty and fitness, jewelry, vacation homes and packages, and a variety of services!

How does the Live Auction work?

The Live Auction is one of the high point of the evening. There will be opportunities to bid on SIX exciting items. Watch the excitement grow as friends vie for one-of-a-kind items that are auctioned off to the highest bidder.

I cannot attend this year’s Gala but would like to help. What can I do?

Even if you cannot attend the actual event, you can support the Gala by:

– becoming a sponsor

– bringing in new sponsors

– bringing in additional ads for our journal

– making a cash contribution

– donating items or services

– joining the volunteer committee

– paying for a teacher’s ticket

– bidding on items at the in-school silent auction
