Akiba Academy Celebrates 50 Years of Achieving the Extraordinary

On Feb­ru­ary 1, 1962, Aki­ba Acad­e­my was found­ed in Dal­las and that same year the first class was inau­gu­rat­ed. We may be 50 years young as an insti­tu­tion, but we are rich in his­to­ry. Won­der­ful things have been hap­pen­ing at Aki­ba through­out our five decades and this year we look back on our his­to­ry with great pride for who we have been as an insti­tu­tion and who we have become. From our hum­ble begin­nings, to the acclaimed insti­tu­tion we are today, Aki­ba Acad­e­my has enjoyed tremen­dous growth in its phys­i­cal and intel­lec­tu­al development.

To mark the 50-year jour­ney, the school will cel­e­brate its gold­en anniver­sary through­out the 2012 ‑2013 school year. Var­i­ous events will give Aki­ba Acad­e­my’s fam­i­ly and friends an oppor­tu­ni­ty to com­mem­o­rate the school’s his­to­ry, to cel­e­brate its suc­cess­es, and to plan for the future. Join us in cel­e­brat­ing our past and pay­ing homage to the peo­ple and events past and present that have made Aki­ba the great insti­tu­tion it is today. Help us pre­serve our his­to­ry by com­ing togeth­er and shar­ing your mem­o­ries of what shaped—and con­tin­ues to shape—Akiba Acad­e­my experiences.
